On December 5th, 2009, Operation Homefront will be hosting a charity fundraiser at Schmidty’s Bar and Family Dining in Evart, Michigan. Our goal is to raise $3,000.00 at this event, and we need your help to reach it. We would like to provide gift baskets with gift cards and food during the holiday season.

Operation Homefront is a 501(c))(3), non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance and morale to our troops, the families they leave behind, and to the wounded warriors when they return home. When our brave men and women are called upon to protect our freedoms, they do so at the expense of their loved ones’ stable lifestyle. Since its inception in 2002, Operation Homefront’s 30 nationwide chapters have provided critical assistance to more than 45,000 military families in need whether on active and non-active duty.

The December 5th charity fundraiser will be a daylong family event with a spaghetti dinner, dessert, salad and beverage for $6.00. Throughout the day there will be a auction, consisting of an assortment of gift baskets, signed merchandise from celebrities, gift certificates, and much more. There will also be a raffle for Christmas trees decorated with hand carved and hand painted ornaments donated by the Michigan Woodcarvers Association along with other door prizes.

This is where your generosity can help. As I said before, our goal is to raise $3,000.00 at this event. But we need your help in obtaining items for the silent auction. Any kind of gift that you could send us for this purpose is greatly appreciated. We have several volunteers willing to pick-up items. Please feel free give me a phone call if this is needed.
